{"id":6650,"date":"2023-03-22T11:21:49","date_gmt":"2023-03-22T11:21:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.inacces.com\/?p=6650"},"modified":"2023-03-22T11:21:49","modified_gmt":"2023-03-22T11:21:49","slug":"emergency-detachment-retaining-wall-sa-calobra-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.inacces.com\/en\/emergency-detachment-retaining-wall-sa-calobra-road\/","title":{"rendered":"Emergency work due to the detachment of a retaining wall on the Sa Calobra road"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ma-2141 road, an emblematic road of the Serra de Tramuntana, suffered a landslide at the beginning of February in one of the dry stone retaining walls characteristic of this road that leads to sa Calobra and Cala Tuent.<\/p>\n<p>The Inacc\u00e9s Geot\u00e9cnica Vertical teams went to the scene and began emergency work to contain the danger and carry out the repair work on the wall in order to reopen the only access route to the tourist businesses in Sa Calobra.<\/p>\n<p>After <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inacces.com\/en\/services\/bulky-rocks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">cleaning up<\/a> the stone blocks that were still fragilely attached to the wall, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inacces.com\/en\/services\/slopes\/soil-nailing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Soilnailing<\/a> and filling of the wall works began in order to recover the original layout of the road. Soilnailing works are carried out with self-drilling anchors made with a hydraulic drilling rig hung from a crane. It was decided to work with compressed air and not with the traditional perforation with continuous concrete grout to avoid cement leaks as much as possible in this natural setting. Once the welded steel mesh is installed, the empty space will be filled with sprayed cement, leaving the necessary space to be able to make the last layer with the traditional dry stone stacking of the island of Mallorca.<\/p>\n<p>The works have caused great expectation, not only among the residents and businesses in the area, but also with the authorities of the council of Mallorca, who took advantage of several site <a href=\"https:\/\/ib3.org\/lesvoranc-de-la-carretera-de-sa-calobra-estara-reparat-en-un-mes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">visits<\/a> to inquire not only about the execution of the works but also about this solution, with which they think it could stabilize more retaining walls in the area that may suffer more landslides.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6644\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inacces.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Sa-Calobra-Actuacion.jpeg\" alt=\"Foto aeria sa Calobra\" width=\"763\" height=\"429\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.inacces.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Sa-Calobra-Actuacion.jpeg 763w, https:\/\/www.inacces.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Sa-Calobra-Actuacion-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.inacces.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Sa-Calobra-Actuacion-600x337.jpeg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 763px) 100vw, 763px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ma-2141 road, an emblematic road of the Serra de Tramuntana, suffered a landslide at the beginning of February in one of the dry stone retaining walls characteristic of this road that leads to sa Calobra and Cala Tuent.
