The barriers, or dynamic screens, are the ones that absorb the energy resulting from a rock fall by means of the various elements of which it consists (cable mesh panels, dissipaters or brakes, etc.)
The absorption of high energy values will result from deformability under load.
The barrier construction process requires, in addition to the design task and theoretical simulation, testing for full scale rock impacts, under certain conditions, to ensure the ability to absorb energy for which they have been designed, without it producing significant damage to the structure.
