The mesh, or cable nets, are panels constructed of steel cable with a thickness of 8 to 16 mm and gaps measuring between 100 and 400 mm. They are frequently used for strengthening unstable slopes in combination with bolts and anchors as well as reinforcing steel cables. It is often used in combination with triple torsion mesh.
The advantages of this active strengthening system are: the continued distribution of the entire load over the surface area with an increase in both safety and reliability of the boltholes, a reduced environmental and visual impact, and the fact that it does not interfere with the natural drainage of the area.
